Chadwick Work Day April  12
Chadwick work day 4/08

As in the past, the Northwest Arkansas ATV Riders Club and the Ozark Trails ATV Club co-hosted a trail work day
and  weekend campout.  This is a twice a year get together to share food, riding fun, trail clearing chores and
renewing old friendships.  It was held April 11-13.  Over 25 workers showed up in the cold and spitting snow to
help repair and maintain the trails damaged by all the floods and ice storms this past winter.
As usual, we enjoyed a pot luck supper of chili and Red Hot Cajun Beans and Rice on Saturday Night.
The OTAC monthly meeting was also held on Saturday night.
Some of the jobs we helped with included:
Putting up signs and GPSing the bridges, while the saw teams clear dead falls
from trails and the jackhammer team took out some of the many rocks exposed
by the recent rains. Other teams put up map kiosk at key locations.
All in all, it was a good weekend with no sweat, no dust, and lots of mud!

The OTAC March meeting was held on Mar. 14

at Panero Bread on East Sunshine in Springfield.
Our April meeting will be held at 6pm on Saturday, April 12 in conjunction with the
Chadwick Work Day and bean supper.  Join us there for a hot weekend!

Short Notice Club Ride
We left from Larry and Doris Gibson's home around 1:00 on Wednesday, March 12 and rode the
county roads of Christian and Webster counties.  Later, we stopped for a break at Finley Falls and then for a wiener roast along Finley River.  It was a nice Spring day, and a fun ride!  Join us next time if you can.

Glade Top Ride Jan. 6, 2008
Our first ride of the year was a great one on a beautiful day with the temperature around 70!  We met at Kay's
in Chadwick and left for Glade Top around 12:45.  After unloading at the Caney Overlook, we rode until
sundown on trails that most of us had never ridden before.  Seventeen riders took part.   This included riders
from the local  area who knew of legal trails we had not ridden before.  A good time was had by all and we are
looking for some more riding opportunities in the near future.  Send us an e-mail if you would like to be on our
e-mail list and we will let you know what is coming up.
